Kind Reminds

• This tutorial is for technical exchange and research purposes only. Illegal use is prohibited;

Important Notes Before You Start

  • Unlocking is legal in most countries (check your local laws).

  • It won’t erase your device data, but always back up your settings.

  • Use only compatible SIM cards to avoid connectivity issues.

  • Some firmware versions may require updated drivers before unlocking.

Why Unlock Your ZTE MF935 / MF936?

If you own a ZTE MF935 or ZTE MF936 portable Wi-Fi hotspot (U10L or U10S variant), it might be locked to a single network provider. This means:

  • You can’t use SIM cards from other carriers.

  • Roaming costs may be high when traveling abroad.

  • You miss out on competitive data plans.

Unlocking removes these restrictions, allowing you to use any compatible SIM card worldwide.

Prerequisites:

- A Windows PC (connected to the internet)

- A Type-C/Micro USB cable

- ZTE MF935/MF936/U10L/U10S device

Step 1 - Install Drivers and Optimise the Device

Download the optimisation tool: UFITool, then extract it.  You'll get this.

Connect the ZTE MF935/MF936/U10L to the PC via USB cable and power on the device.

Double-click "one key to install Driver.cmd" to install drivers.  Click as below.

If an error pops up, follow Microsoft's guide to set "Memory Integrity" to OFF.  if not, move forward.

After driver installation, optimise the device by running "ufiTool-SZXX-use this.cmd". If successful (as shown in the example image below), proceed to the next step. If the device isn't detected, manually enter its IP (e.g., 192.168.0.1 – check device documentation).

Step 2 -SIM Unlocking

Open ATmaster (for sending AT commands) and select the first option in the red box (see example image).   ATmastersite: https://atmaster.netlify.app/#/

Choose the correct COM port (usually COM4 – check Windows Device Manager if multiple ports appear).

Enter the AT command: **AT+ZCARDSWITCH=0** (to switch to SIM slot 0).

Click "Send" – recommended at least three times (fewer attempts may fail).

If "OK" appears, restart the device. It’s now unlocked and ready for other SIM use!

Step 3 – Test Your Connection

  • The device should now connect to the new network.

  • Check signal strength and browse the internet to confirm.
